The guys insisted they go out to dinner with them. Jane Doe felt uncomfortable and told her friends, she didn't want to go with them. However, the other two girls were in favor of going and encouraged her to go along. She was then pulled into the van by one of the men. During the car ride, Jane Doe asked several times where they were going but got no response. However, when one of her other friends asked, one of the guys just said, "they needed to go back to the house to get money first."
Picking up on Jane's discomfort, one of the men, continually made comments insisting she doesn't need to be scared and, "everything is consensual." Once at the house, he took Jane's arm and told her he wanted to speak with her in private. He then took her to the back room of the house and, "violently raped her for over an hour." She attempted to text a danger code word to her friends, but her phone was knocked out of reach by her abuser.
After the rape was over, Jane Doe made her way out of the house to her friends. A few of the other guys said they would take the girls home.
Jane Doe immediately called her mother who called the campus police and asked for a female officer to come and get her. Campus police did not take a report, only gathered enough information to determine a crime had occurred. Next, a UC Davis Advocate drove Jane Doe back to Fairfield to the Fairfield Police Department, where they took the report. Without any real direction from Jane Doe, the Police and Advocate drove to what they though might be the house. Jane Doe identified the house as being the one she was raped in. Afterwards, she was taken to a hospital where she was given various STD drugs and a "Rape Kit" exam. After examining her, "brutally lacerated insides, stated, "nobody would consent to this."
